This week, Feb. 11th, we celebrate the Transfiguration. This is the time Jesus took Peter, James and John up on a mountain. There He was met by Moses and Elijah and He transfigured, or shone brightly. This was to give the disciples a glimpse of the glory that was to come!
Feb. 14th at 5:30 we will have our Ash Wednesday service, which begins our Lenten season. This is a season of preparation for Easter. We prepare ourselves by praying, fasting, reading scripture and attending worship. In the early church, Lent was a time of preparation for those who were to be baptized as new believers at Easter. For Christians around the world it is a time to confess our sins once again and get right with God. This all begins on Ash Wednesday, where we confront our own mortality and confess our sin before God and within our community of faith.
I hope that you will join as on this journey! It's never too late and you are never too far gone to begin or renew a relationship with Jesus Christ! The Messiah!!
Hope to see you there!
